11 December 2017 – Innovative Training Networks (ITN) information day

The fourth Horizon 2020 Innovative Training Networks (ITN) info day took place in Brussels on 11 December 2017. The agenda of the meeting focused on providing the coordinators of the H2020 ITN projects with information on specific implementation matters. 196 people representing 125 projects took part in the meeting.

Innovative training networks bring together universities, research centres and companies from different countries worldwide to train a new generation of researchers. The funding boosts scientific excellence and business innovation, and enhances researchers’ career prospects by developing their skills in entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation.

Webinar on 2016-2017 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Work Programme

The 2016-2017 Work Programme for Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions was published on 14th October. The Irish Marie Skłodowska-Curie Office is offering a webinar to summarise the Calls and new aspects in the Work Programme, including the new Society and Enterprise Panel within the Individual Fellowships Call. The webinar will be hosted by Dr. Jennifer Brennan, NCP for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and will take place from 15:00 to 16:00 on November 2nd.

To register, please email mariecurie@iua.ie. You will receive an email confirming your registration and containing more information about accessing the webinar. Please note that it may be up to 72 hours before you receive the confirmation email.

US College Counsellors Visit to Irish Universities 3rd-8th March 2013

The Irish Universities and Education in Ireland are delighted to invite US College Counsellors to visit all seven of the University Campuses in the Republic of Ireland during a 6 day tour from March 3-8th, 2013.

The goal of the tour is to give individuals a first-hand experience of the Irish campuses, as well as to familiarise interested individuals with the Irish University system, application process, tuition costs, as well as outlining the advantages of an Irish University education for American students.

Access Key to European R&D Funding for Enterprise: The Marie Curie Actions

On Friday 19th October last, the Irish Universities Association and the Irish Business and Employers Confederation hosted an information session the Marie Curie Actions (MCA).  The event was extremely well-attended by close to 70 representatives from enterprise large and small, who heard how the MCA provides an excellent opportunity for commercial organisations to source funding to support their research interests and activities, and how it can  be an excellent entry point for commercial organisations to access the wide range of European R&D funding suitable for them.  The session featured testimonials from enterprise small and large successful in securing R&D funding from the Marie Curie Actions, including Alcatel-Lucent and EirGen Pharma.
