Call on government to honour funding promise to deliver much-needed skills

The Presidents and Chairs of the Governing Authorities of our member universities have called on the government to urgently address the funding crisis in higher education.

In their letter to An Taoiseach, Tánaiste and Ministers, they point to the growing skills deficit across all sectors while €1.5 billion remains unspent in the National Training Fund.

Universities are ready and willing to help deliver major national priorities but can only do so if the shortfall in funding – as acknowledged by government – is provided.

We urge you to contact your local TD to ask for action.

You can find their contact details through the Oireachtas Members Page and you can contact minister Simon Harris here.
