This initiative represents an opportunity to ensure our higher education system makes an optimal contribution to the recovery of the economy, to an equitable and stable society, to a vibrant culture and to our future prosperity. In regard to the organization and resourcing of the sector, it is important that the strategy has a positive perspective and is not artificially constrained in its outlook by the current economic difficulties.
