#UniversitiesDeliver

Our universities deliver for Ireland every day and in many ways.

Our universities are rooted in knowledge and creativity. Through their research activities, they create and apply new knowledge that addresses real-life problems for a sustainable economy and society. Our students who are at the heart of the university mission are provided with the personal and professional skills they need to contribute to the innovation and creativity of our society and to meet the high skills needs of our economy.

Working today to help create tomorrow. Universities deliver.

Find out how……

Universities Deliver – Universities Create.

Irish Universities provide the pipeline of high skills talent, making Ireland a highly attractive location for enterprise. In an increasingly competitive global marketplace, we meet the critical needs of employers and anticipate the demands of tomorrow. Locally, regionally and nationally, our universities safeguard prospects for our citizens, including generations to come.

Universities Deliver – Universities Nurture.

Irish Universities educate and support our artists, writers, actors and dancers; nurturing and developing their talent. We may be a small nation, but our art, literature and music place us firmly on the world stage. Ireland’s creative gifts are a dynamic expression of who we are, and how we see ourselves. Universities are an integral part of that story.

Description: Conversations began in 2010 between the National Library of Ireland and UCD around a creative alliance between two unique assets – the NLI’s Joyce collections and UCD’s most significant historic property, Newman House. A working group was established in 2012, and an exceptionally generous donation from Martin and Carmel Naughton propelled the idea to reality. Newman House’s Aula Maxima building was turned into a 10,000ft2 exhibition space, while creating universal access across all the buildings of the historic site where UCD itself was founded. Further generous funding and strategic advice from Fáilte Ireland brought the project to construction stage – builders arrived on site in October 2017, and the Museum of Literature Ireland opened to the public on 21 September 2019.
