'Graduate Outcomes Survey 2025' - IUA Universities at a glance

We welcome today’s publication of the ‘Graduate Outcomes Survey 2025’ by the HEA, an important national benchmark for graduate pathways, employment, and progression. This year’s results reflect the strength, ambition and impact of university graduates across Ireland, with IUA universities continuing to play a leading role in developing highly skilled talent for society and the economy.

Outcomes for IUA Universities at a glance:

  • 43,933 graduates – the majority of Ireland’s total 70,921 graduates
  • 62.9% now in full-time employment, demonstrating strong employer demand for university graduates
  • 21.9% progressing to full-time further study, training or research, compared with 16% nationally
  • Only 4.29% unemployed and seeking work, significantly lower than the 8.28% among other HEIs and below the national rate of 6%

These outcomes show that graduates of Ireland’s research-intensive universities are securing opportunities, advancing new knowledge, and transitioning confidently into careers and postgraduate pathways. The combination of high employment, high progression into further study and low unemployment, underscores the value of a university education, for graduates, employers, and the wider economy.

We thank the HEA for their continued work in capturing and publishing these insights, and we look forward to ongoing collaboration to support student success and graduate employability.
