Promoting Irish French Academic Cooperation

The French Embassy in Ireland and the Irish Universities Association – in partnership with Campus France Paris, are organizing the “Promoting Irish and French academic cooperation” days which will take place on the 19th and 20th of June 2014.

Thursday, 19th of June

The first day will be dedicated to three lectures and networking sessions, from 3pm to 5.30pm in the Winter Hall room of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, on Kildare Street, Dublin 2.

We will start off with a welcoming buffet from 2pm to 3pm.

The meeting will continue with lectures by French and Irish representatives:

–          From 3 to 3.45pm: Relation between the academic world and companies, with two speakers.  Among them Michel Mudry, Honorary President of the University of Orléans and CDEFI (Conference of the Directors of French engineering schools) Representative to international organizations. 

–          From 4 to 4.45pm: joint and double degrees, with input from two speakers. Among them Jean Peeters, President of the University of South Brittany and Vice-President of the commission of International relations at the Conference of French University Presidents

–          From 5 to 5.30pm: How to find the contact person in an Irish institution?

Following these lectures, a cocktail reception will be held in the Residence of France in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, at 6.30pm.

Friday 20th of June

French participants will choose (in advance) a university and will have face-to-face meetings with their counterparts during the day.

The French Embassy will take care of the transportation and will accompany the participants to the following cities: Limerick, Cork, Galway in addition to Dublin.
