Presidents and senior representatives from our seven universities briefing for Oireachtas members on the challenges and opportunities faced by the university system.
Members were also briefed on ‘Delivering for Ireland – An Impact Assessment of Irish Universities’ carried out by Indecon International Economic Consultants. The Report sets out in detail how our universities contribute to the national economy and to the social and cultural fabric of the country.
Over 120,000 students from every county and constituency in Ireland are currently studying at our universities which employ almost 16,000 staff. As key contributors to the local economies and as key generators of the talent and creativity for the economy, the universities are committed to working with all political parties to ensure that we continue to provide a top-quality university education to this and future generations.
