Developing Future-Ready Researchers: career development and mobility in a global environment

The Association of Higher Education Career Services in Ireland (AHECS) Postgraduate Students Task Group is hosting a one-day international conference for all policy makers, academics, careers service and HR staff involved in supporting the career development of early career researchers. The AHECS global study of good practice informed the key themes of the day.

11th May 2018, Trinity Long Room Hub, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland

The programme will focus on career development including international mobility, internships and workplace learning opportunities. Keynote presentations and parallel workshops will be delivered by the speakers from Australia, Canada, UK and Ireland.

The expected outcomes from the day are to:

  • Enhance career development support for early career researchers through collaboration and partnership internationally and locally
  • Discuss the supports that would ideally be put in place in Ireland, and how they might be implemented
  • Influence Irish and European policy based on models of international good practice

Senior representatives of major stakeholder organisations in Ireland will be in attendance.
