Sinéad Lucey is IUA’s International Education Manager.

Her role focuses on the development and implementation of a collective strategy for universities’ international education, and all associated elements, within the broader Irish International Education Strategy. She convenes a number of strategic working groups in the IUA including the International Directors Group. On behalf of the universities Sinead oversees several contracts and scholarship programs for student exchange including Brazil’s “Science Without Borders”, Saudi Arabia’s “King Abdullah Scholarship” and for the USA “Generation Study Abroad Scholarships”.

Sinéad serves as an advisor to several national and international groups including ICEF, ICOS, Ireland’s 7 Universities, EAIE, FAUBAI, NAFSA  and Education in Ireland/Enterprise Ireland. She is a member of the Irish Government High Level Group on Internationalisation led by the Department of Education and Skills in Ireland.

Sinéad joined IUA from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, where she was initially International Development Manager, then Senior Project and Marketing Manager, based at the Institute of Technology Tralee. She was a key player in the development and marketing of the Medical Commencement Programme, a joint pre medical programme designed by the RCSI and IT Tralee in 2008.

Sinéad holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Cork and has completed her Masters in Development Education and Global Learning from the University of London.
