Visit of the King of Belgium

The IUA worked closely with the Belgian embassy and the Rectors Conference of Belgium to organise a conference on the occasion of the royal visit of the King and Queen of Belgium to Ireland on 8th-10th October. The academic conference took place in the Royal College of Physicians and presentations were made by three IUA speakers, Prof. Jane Grimson TCD, Prof. Frank Barry NUI-Galway and Prof. Colm Harmon UCD. The theme of the conference and meeting was on greater collaboration in research and technology transfer. While in Dublin the King and Queen visited Trinity to view "The Four Masters and Their World" exhibition in the Trinity Library. The Royal Party also visited University of Limerick during their Irish Tour.
