The IUA was represented for the third year running at the 2007 AAAS Meeting in San Francisco.
The AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) Annual Meeting is an international science and technology extravaganza that influences science professionals around the world and generates extensive news coverage to further the public understanding of science, engineering and technology.
Ireland’s Exhibition Stand represented all seven universities, with a focus on 4th Level Ireland, the Irish Researcher Mobility Network and Expertise Ireland.
The IUA focused on promoting Ireland as a location for researchers, especially the research Diaspora as well as highlighting Graduate Studies at the seven Irish Universities. Both portals researchcareersireland.com and expertiseireland.com complemented each other in providing information, assistance and expertise on research opportunities in Ireland. The event proved an excellent opportunity for marketing Ireland as job market for researchers. The Expertise Ireland web portal was used to identify Irish researchers and the Mobility Office acted as a facilitator for researchers moving to Ireland.
