For Fellowships

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions contain a range of opportunities for researchers at all career stages to either apply for their own individual funding, or to join an existing large-scale programme funded by Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.

What research areas are funded?

All areas of research are covered by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, including STEM subjects and the social sciences, humanities and economic sciences.

Opportunities for Research Students

At present, there are no opportunities for students to apply for individual funding from the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. Instead, students can look for studentship vacancies in an  Innovative Training Network or COFUND Doctoral Programme, where they can begin or expand on their research, and gain complementary and transferable skills training to support doctoral or masters’ degree studies. Vacancies for studentships (termed “Early-Stage” or “First-Stage” Researchers) are posted on EURAXESS Jobs.

Opportunities for Experienced Researchers

Experienced Researchers (PhD holders or those with four years of research experience) can apply for their own Marie Skłodowska-Curie individual funding via the Individual Fellowships Scheme. An annual call for Individual Fellowships closes in September each year.If you are interested in applying to IF with a supervisor at an Irish host institution, please visit our Fellowship Host Offers page.

Experienced Researchers can also apply for a personal fellowship from one of the over 200 COFUND Fellowship Programmes operating across Europe.  These programmes are operated by national funding agencies or research organisations, supported by co-funding from the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. Open Calls in COFUND schemes are published on EURAXESS Jobs.
