IUA Groups


The IUA Groups discuss and pursue policy issues and actions under specific thematic headings.

The five Standing Groups are:

  • The Registrars' Group
  • The Vice Presidents/Deans of Research Group
  • The Chief Financial Officers' Group (UCFOG)
  • The HR Directors' Group
  • The Secretaries' Group

Plenary meetings of members of these groups are held a mimimum of four times a year and many groups meet monthly.

Chairmanship of the Standing Groups rotates between the universities in line with IUA Chairmanship.

Within the IUA framework a large number of expert groups facilitate inter-university co-operation on important specialised areas. These include:

  • Access Managers Group
  • Communications Officers Group
  • Deans of Graduate Studies Group
  • Finance Managers Group
  • International Officers Group
  • Librarians Group
  • Procurement Officers Group
  • Research Officers Group
